My long-standing interest and involvement helping residents through political office has led me to run for Warwick City Council in Ward 7.
As Chairman of the Burrillville Democratic Party, I worked with environmental conservation stakeholders to keep a fossil fuel burning power plant from being built in the town. I also worked to elect to local and state offices, Democratic candidates who shared common goals on social issues and a desire to service others.
As Moderator of the Pascoag Utility District, I ensured the rate payers meetings were run efficiently, in an orderly fashion, and that all residents were given the opportunity to voice their opinions and concerns.
Out of my experience working in special education in the Warwick School system, I learned that tenacity and patience are the keys to making improvements. I worked with such incredible students who struggled and succeeded due to being provided a positive learning environment. The inspiration garnered from these students led me to becoming their Unified Sports program coach for several years at both Pilgrim and Toll Gate High Schools.
In my current role as a Controller working in school finance, I have the experience and understanding of municipal and school budgets. I know what impacts services and what is necessary to provide a strong education for the students of Warwick.
I am also a member of the Executive Board and Recording Secretary for the Rhode Island State Democratic Party.
With my experience in the educational system, as well as in appointed and elected office, I am confident I will step into the role of representing and advocating for the residents of Warwick Ward 7 from day one.
Together, let’s Keep Warwick Moving Forward!
